Older people share their experiences on ‘thriving in residential care’

My Home Life England (part of City St George’s, University of London) has conducted one of the largest ever qualitative research studies on older people’s experiences of living in residential care, funded by the Hallmark Foundation.

The research team spoke to older people living in a wide range of care homes, as well as families and care teams across the UK.

The research identifies some challenges, but reveals proportionally many more benefits of living in a care home. It shines a light on six key ways that older people can thrive in a care home, if the conditions are right.

The report, summaries and an animation of the key lessons can be downloaded here: Our new research reveals 6 key ways that older people can thrive in a care home – My Home Life England
